Fred Miller Fred Miller, 87, of Port Neches, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born on December 10, 1926 in Iota, Louisiana to Louise and Jeff Miller. He and Mary Short Miller were married March 2, 1945. Fred was U.S. Army veteran and retired as a machinist from Ameripol-Synpol in Port Neches in 1990. He was a member and deacon at Southside Baptist Church in Port Neches, and a member of Campers on Mission of Louisiana. He loved his family, music, and was always willing to help anyone who called on him. After he retired he spent much of his time volunteering, working on buildings at Acadia Baptist Center in Eunice, LA. Funeral services for Frederick Leon Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Reverend David Birdsong officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bob Miller, Rodney Miller, and George Dale Miller, and sister, Jean Hebert, all of Louisiana. He is survived by his wife, Mary Miller of Port Neches, two daughters, Pam McGraw and husband, Ronnie of Port Neches, and Paula Metzinger and husband, Phil of Lufkin, five grandchildren, Wade McGraw and wife, Kristen, Leah Weldon and husband, Scott, Deb Turrentine and husband, Jason, Sarah Metzinger, and Aaron Metzinger, seven great grandchildren, and three sisters, Mareta Touchett and husband, Earl of Jennings, LA., Nell Pelliern and husband, Joe of Homa, LA., and Antoinette Miller of Church Point, LA. and numerous nieces and nephews. We are very sorry to hear of your loss. It is always difficult to live on without our loved ones. As Christians we know we will see them again in a better place.
