G. Dean Richardson

1959 ∼ 2024

      G. Dean Richardson, 64, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Dean was born on November 11, 1959, in Port Arthur, Texas and dedicated his life to not only his career but also to his family and community.

Dean was set to retire from Flowserve as a Senior Training Specialist, where he had dedicated the past 15 years to sharing his knowledge and expertise in vibration analytics. He spent his career in oil and gas and was well respected in the industry.

The deer camp was considered his sanctuary, Dean had a passion for the outdoors and loved building memories with family there. He embraced many hobbies over the years from racing his Mustangs, hunting, to many other skills that involved working with his hands. Throughout the years Dean enjoyed learning about science, mathematics, and technology. This vast knowledge was passed to his children, his grandson, Tyler and many others. His commitment to being an active grandfather led him to volunteer with the Boy Scouts, where he could share his experiences and values with the next generation. His avid love for shooting lead him to become an NRA Range Safety Officer and Instructor.

Dean was a loving father, friend and mentor. He will be greatly missed.

Dean is survived by his beloved mother, Patricia L. Richardson, his daughters, Natalie Price and Valerie Richardson; grandson, Tyler Richardson; brother, Jeff Richardson; and sister, Cindy Stone. Each of them carries forward his memory and the lessons he imparted during his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Dale Richardson, who undoubtedly left a lasting impact on Dean’s values and character.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Dean's Life to begin at 6:30 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

Dean was a good friend and will be missed. Condolences to all his family. As a past scout leader and Eagle Scout parent and grandparent I know how proud he was of his grandson. I wish I could join everyone tonight but due to my age, distance and timing I will Be there in spirit.

What do you say about an older brother who you didn’t get along with when you were growing up, fought with constantly, and who was the cause of me breaking my arm the first time AND the second time. Of course it was because I wanted to do everything he was doing. Third time was all on me, I tripped! He taught me how to ride a bike…when I was 3…down a hill..in the middle of the road. He was the one who caused me to kick a hole through the side of a chair during a fight, who called me names, and made me cry. But he is also the one who stood up for me when a neighborhood kid pushed me off my bike. The one who helped us glue a vase back together so Momma wouldn’t know we broke it. By high school we learned to tolerate each other, and before long I was spending time at his house, hanging out, eating meals, and playing with my nieces. Regardless of our differences, he was always that big brother who I knew I could count on when needed, and who supported me in my life decisions. We had a running joke in the family that he was Momma’s favorite child. He even gave her a large blanket with that printed on it. So, if you are listening big brother, the title is officially yours. I will miss you. Love you, your little sister.

All of my memories on Richardson side of our family include Dean,- Cow Creek memories, camping memories as well. Dean was the expert outdoorsman we all admired ! I remember it was Dean who ran for help also, from Joe Hole, when someone was injured possibly saving their life. Love you , sweet cousin ! Go rest high upon that mountain. 💗
