G. “Dale” Taylor, 74, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at his residence in Nederland. Dale was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 25, 1948 to the late, Percy G. Taylor and Sarah V. Taylor.
Dale worked for Southwestern Bell and retired with 35 years of service. He completed his working years working for Maverick Communications in Beaumont, Texas. Dale was an avid supporter of the Nederland Bulldogs and loved the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed white perch fishing, a good round of golf and was known to hit the bowling lanes from time to time. Dale was a bowling champion from 1971-1973. He and his father, Percy enjoyed being members of the Money Bowling League. He loved to dance, loved his wife’s cooking, loved a good outdoor barbecue, and enjoyed sharing a beer with friends. He was passionate about and loved his entire family. All his grandchildren shared a special place in his heart. Dale had a glowing personality and was known to be a jokester, even though some of his jokes turned out to be corny, he still enjoyed telling them. He was a man that never met a stranger. He always seemed to know people no matter where he went and he always welcomed everyone as though they were family. Simply said, “To know him was to love him”. He will be loved and missed by his family and countless friends.
Those left to cherish Dale’s memory include his loving wife of 25 years, Jackie Taylor of Nederland; son, Jacob Taylor and his wife, Angela of Marble Falls, Texas; daughter, Sarah Rodgers and her husband, Andy of Nederland; step-sons, Steven Niedenthal and his wife, Shelly of Port Neches and Jeremy Niedenthal of Nederland; sister, Betsy Evans and her husband, Jimmy of Vicksburg, Mississippi; grandchildren, Alyssa Niedenthal, Autumn Niedenthal, Cameron Niedenthal, Destiny Niedenthal, Alyssa Carlin, Anthony Niedenthal, Angel Niedenthal and Kane Rodgers; nephews, Gary Evans and his wife, Lauren, Mike Lewis and his wife, Jennifer and Ricky Evans and his wife, Tammy.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Percy G. Taylor and Sarah V. Taylor.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
