Gary Hester, 75, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Second Baptist Church in Bridge City under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home Groves. Officiating will be Mr. Gerald Hester.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on December 31, 1945, he was the son of Doyle Woodrow Hester, Sr. and Jarue Doris Canady Hester. Gary was a lifelong resident of this area and retired Instrumentation Technician with Texaco/Huntsman.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Doyle Woodrow Hester, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Hester of Groves, Texas; son, Gerald Hester and wife Cortney of Bridge City, Texas; daughter, Wendy Hester of Nederland, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Stefan, Gavyn, Sydney, Abigail, Kelsie, Michael, and Miranda.

Gary was such a big part of my fond memories of growing up at Trinity Baptist Church. He was always willing to jump in and take us anywhere we needed to go. We even lived in the same neighborhood! He was always easy going and unflappable. The world will be a little worse without him in it! I will be praying for his family and friends!
