Gay C. Sanford, age 71, of Beaumont, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Memorial Hermann NTICU in Houston, Texas. Gay was born in Port Neches, Texas on April 11, 1947 to the late, John C. Aycock II and Norma Wheeler Aycock.
Gay was a 1965 graduate of Nederland High School. She worked in various banking positions, but working as a flight attendant with Continental Airlines was the highlight of her career.
Gay was an avid animal lover, she loved life and she never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Sanford of Beaumont; son, Jayme Sanford and grand-daughters, Adrianna Sanford and Angelina Sanford of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Cody Aycock, Norman Aycock and wife, Dana of Nederland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gay is preceded in death by her brother, John Aycock III.
A visitation will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas.
