Gay Nelle Smith

Gay Nelle Smith, 81, of Nederland, Texas passed away September 14, 2020. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on February 14, 1939 to the late Walker and Versie Sistrunk. Gay Nelle was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Nederland and loved her Lord dearly.

Those left to cherish Gay Nelle’s memory are her sons, Kirk Smith and his wife, Lisa of Nederland and Kent Smith and his wife, Carol of Mesa, Arizona; her grandchildren, Layne Smith, Lauren Smith, Blake Smith, and Garrett Smith; numerous great-grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth Sistrunk and his wife Virginia of Jasper. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Maurice Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2020 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park Cemetery in Port Neches under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Rev. Dr. Jason Burden and Bro. Bruce Stracener officiants.
