Gaye Nell Marcontel, age 76, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. She was born on October 13, 1938 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Roy LaPoint and Louise Gunn. She worked in retail as a beauty consultant at Dillard’s for Clinique. Gaye Nell was an Eastern Star, member of the Red Hats Society, and also President of the Jayceettes. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland. Gaye Nell loved to travel, have family gatherings, and Christmas parties.

Gaye Nell is survived by her daughters, Melissa Gebert and her husband, Al of Frisco, TX, Melanie Jarrell and her husband, Randy of Houston, TX, and Amy Gallander and her husband, Brent of Nederland; sister, Peggy Bailey and her husband, James of Nederland; sister-in-law, Diane LaPoint of Nederland; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David “Dan” Marcontel; and her brother, James “Jimmy” LaPoint.

Funeral Services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of the family and friends will be held Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
