Joel Eugene “Gene” Alston Jr., 70, of Orange, Texas passed away Friday, March 13, 2020. Gene was born September 29, 1949 in DeQuincy, Louisiana to Joel and Laverne Alston. Gene served in the United States Marines and retired from Exxon Mobil with 42 years of service. He coached softball for 30+years and loved bowling.

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Joel Eugene Alston Sr. and son, Martin Alston. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Valerie Ann Alston; mother, Laverne Clotiaux Alston; sons, Michael Alston, Brian Alston and Daniel Alston; grandchildren, Hailey Alston, Reagan Alston and Trevor Alston; sister, Pam Gillette and brother, Jimmie Alston and his wife, Tina.

Funeral arrangements have been postponed until further notice.
