Our family moved in next door to Gene and JoAnn in 1969. My memories of them both, as a 5 year old, and growing up, were that we had the best neighbors in the world! Always ready to stop what they were doing outside and visit, even if it was just me, a little kid, they both made me feel their love. Gene especially loved to pick on me! There was a tv cop show in the mid 70s called "Get Christy Love" and every single time he saw me, he would say, "Hey, Christy Love!" Then he would giggle and I pretended to be offended or aggravated...it was a little "dance" between us...he showing his love for me and me loving him right back:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Gene always had a big smile and wave for me as he mowed or worked outside. I will forever remember his kindness. May the Lord of all be with each family member and friend as the sadness of his passing envelopes you. I pray you find comfort and joy in all of your memories.
