I only knew Gene for about a year. In this short time I grew to respect his friendship, his knowledge and his morals and values. There are too few people like him in this world. I admire those who where fortunate enough to have known him longer.

So many memories of fun times with Gene Paul, on 1544 EU... I could write a book. We shared common interest, most revolved around something with a motor. Gene taught me so much, and probably didn't know it. We recently reconnected on FB, after life separated us. I had all intentions and even told him I was coming by, and we were gonna just sit and talk and visit. Life got in the way, now my buddy is gone. Once again he taught me another lesson...Don't Wait! Go rest now buddy, see ya soon!

Remember when he and family (girls) where coming home from San Antonio, stopped for gas. He was filling the tank, girls go out to go to the restroom. He paid for the gas. Started the van, thinking girls were asleep in the back and drove all the way three hours to Nederland without stopping, got out and found out the van was empty….drove back to San Antonio to some very pissed off ladies at the gas station.

Condolences to Gene Paul’s family. I was surprised and sadden to hear about his passing. I had just spoken to him on the phone in early August when he was still working remotely. As many have come to know, he was dedicated and always eager to help just like when he was out here. Gene Paul was one of the best.

I met Gene Paul working at Chevron Phillips. My career was starting as his was coming to an end. He treated me like one of his own and was always willing to help in any way he could. He once seen me in the Verizon store in Beaumont and I hadn't seen him yet. He came up behind me and covered my eyes. Scared me half to death. He just laughed and laughed. Gene Paul was a good man and very well respected. He will be missed by many. Allison Graham

I was a nieve young man amongst a bunch of experienced old hands when I hired on at the Gulf. Gene took me under his wing, and led me through a trying time. I was always proud to call him my friend and mentor, and respected our friendship like no other. He was a man among men with few that could compare with his character and the respect others had for him and his ethics. God bless you "Geneious". The older brother i never had. Rest in God's peace. May God shine his perpetual light on your amazing spirit. Love ya' man.
