Gene Evelyn Henderson Our Mother, Gene Evelyn (Stauffer) Henderson passed away in her home after a lengthy illness on January 23, 2010. She was born on June 12, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio. She moved to Beaumont, Texas in her senior year of high school and met and married the love of her life, J.W. Henderson D.V.M. She is predeceased by her parents, one brother, two sisters, and husband. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Jeslyn and Morgan Sandlin of Groves, Genette and Terry Cockerham of Groves, Ginie and Dwayne Hebert of Houston, grandchildren; Tiffany Sandlin of Houston, Airen Vincent of Groves, and Jessica Wilkinson of Groves, great grandchildren; C.J. and Lance Wilkinson of Groves. The family is honoring her wishes for a Private Memorial. Our deepest appreciation and thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Kathy, Adrian, Fran and Pastor Mike through Harbor Hospice of Beaumont; to her 24 hour caregivers, Audrey and Sue and to her family, friends and life-long neighbors for their love and support.
