Gene Allen Martin, 55, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Jefferson Nursing and Rehab in Beaumont, Texas. Gene was born January 4, 1959 in Port Arthur, Texas to James Ray Martin and Nessie Daigle Martin. He was a lifelong area resident and member of Groves First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his four sisters, Paula Benson and husband Richard of Cypress, TX, Pattie Daniel and husband Keith of Groves, TX, Peggy Leger and husband D.J. of Colorado Springs, CO, and Pamela Kepley of Magnolia, TX; one brother, David Martin of Rosharon, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at First Christian Church, 5856 9th Avenue, Port Arthur, TX followed by the memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
