George Warren Bernauer, 73, of Bridge City, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. George was born November 5, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas to Milton Bernauer and Dortha Ingraham Bernauer. He was a lifelong area resident and member of the United Methodist Temple. George retired from Fina/Total as a gas mixer after many years of service. Survivors include his daughter, Michele Bernauer Slaughter and her husband Rowdy of Bridge City, TX; son, Danny Bernauer of Lott, TX; sister, Betty Waedemon and her husband Ron of Sugar Land, TX; brother, Dr. Dale Bernauer of Lake Charles, LA; and one grandchild, Shea Funderburk. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Life Center in Bridge City with Mr. Rowdy Slaughter officiating.
