George "Calvin" Cappel, Jr.

George “Calvin” Cappel, Jr., 66 of Nederland, TX passed away on December 19, 2014, at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He was born in Nederland on October 25, 1948, to the late George Calvin Cappel and Helen Crutchfield and he was a lifetime area resident. George proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed as a welder/pipefitter at DuPont.
George is survived by wife Lori Broussard Cappel, Nederland, TX; daughter Christy Zenon, Nederland, TX; Cinnamon Cappel, Baytown, TX; step-daughters Sarah DeRouen and Fiance’ Mason Mounkes of Nederland; Hannah DeRouen of Nederland; grandson Anthony Cappel of Seattle, WA; granddaughters: Sydnee Rivers of Port Arthur; Kryssa Zenon and Dazja Zenon of Nederland; brother Harvey Cappel and wife Betty of Texas City; sisters Gayle Bryant and husband Doug of Beaumont; Loretta Meleton of Groves, TX.
Funeral Services with full military honors will be at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, on Monday, December 22 at 6 p.m. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. He will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
