George Lee Hebert, 93, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. George was born October 29, 1917 in Leonville, Louisiana to Lucien Hebert and Ella Fusette Hebert. He was a resident of Groves for 75 years and longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was the owner of Hebert's Texaco Service Station before retiring and was also a member of Groves Knights of Columbus Council #3491. George was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers. Survivors include his wife, Yola Hebert of Groves; two daughters, Patsy Rabe of Port Arthur, and Linda Leteff and her husband, Duke of Port Arthur; one son, Gerald Hebert and his wife, Cindy of Bridge City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves, with Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., and a Vigil Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
