George Ralph Lee

1953 ∼ 2024

George Ralph Lee, aged 70, of Nederland, stepped into the light at 10:52am on May 13, 2024, leaving behind a world that was richer for his presence. He was born on November 25, 1953, in Port Arthur, TX. to Foster Maurice Lee, Sr., and Emma Jean Morris Lee.

As a gifted musician and singer, he inspired countless souls with his beautiful melodies and gentle spirit.  His earthly journey may have ended, but his new beginning is filled with promise and joy.

George enjoyed life to the fullest and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5145 in Nederland at St. Charles Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving family members: Brothers Skeeter Lee (Darlene) of Nederland and Leo Lee (Sheila) of Nederland; as well as his Sister Sharon Roberts of Magnolia, TX.  He will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

George is now reunited with his departed parents, Foster and Emma Lee and his sister, Sammie Lee.

George's life will be celebrated during visitation services on May 17, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland. This will be followed by a Memorial Service at the same location beginning at 11:00 AM.

Those who knew George will remember him for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

In this time of sorrow, may we find comfort in the memories we shared with George Ralph Lee and may his gentle soul rest in eternal peace. To honor George, the family is asking that anyone wishing to make donations please direct them to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.

I still remember George as a child...my little rambunctious neighbor boy! I also was Abe to reconnect with him through Facebook and am so glad for the chats we had there. He will be missed but it's comforting to know he is in the presence of our Creator right now! My condolences to Sharon, Leo, and Skeeter and the extended family. What a lovely obituary and beautiful memories you will have to remember as you grieve.

I have some very fond memories of making music with George. I’ll forever be grateful to him for asking me to play bass guitar on his recording of ‘Lover’s Prayer’. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
