George Alphonse Litvik, 84, of Nederland, TX, passed away January 5, 2016. He was born July 7, 1931, in East Bernard, TX to the late Joesef Litvik and Clara Pustojosky.

George retired from Texas Gulf Sulfur Company after 35 years. After retiring, he opened Litvik's Tractor Service, as he enjoyed providing this service for the community. George enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes and socializing with his friends. He loved following the Houston Astros and Texans. He disliked the Dallas Cowboys.

George is survived by his wife, Dorothy Litvik of Nederland; daughters, Linda Aldridge of League City, TX, Cindy Allen and husband, Ricky of Nederland, TX, Judy DeCuir of Nederland, TX; son, Kenneth Litvik and wife, Amie of Nederland, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Allen, Evan Litvik, Victoria Aldridge; Gabriel Aldridge and Christopher Aldridge.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, January 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, with Father John Hughes officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

When we moved here 1960 from Baton Rouge,LA we knew no one. Your Mom and Dad took us under their wings and were so nice and welcoming to us. We all became such good friends. Your Dad and mine going gigging for frogs, night fishing for flounders, all of us going blackberry picking and then our Moms making blackberry cobbler....yum!
