George A. Ramsay, 85 of Nederland, Texas formerly of Kearney, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday morning, September 11, 2018 at Oakwood Healthcare in Vidor, Texas. George was born on July 29, 1933 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late, David Ramsay and Mary Veronica O’Brien Ramsay.

George was previously a Rocket Inspector for Rocketdyne Corporation in California during the Apollo Ere and more recently he was the owner/operator of Pride Cleaning for 40 years. George also served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Those left to cherish George’s memory include his daughter, Lynda Schmidt of Little Canada, MN; sons, Michael Ramsay of Nederland, Kenneth Ramsay of Tucson, AZ and Jeffery Ramsay of Maplewood, MN; brother, James Ramsay and sister, Patricia Eide; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Lee Ramsay; and his brothers, William, Walter, Donald, Fredrick, Jackie and Richard Ramsay.

Following cremation, George will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home, Nederland, Texas.
