George Claude Robinson

George Claude "Red" Robinson, 97, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017. George was born April 22, 1919 in Fort Bend County, Texas to James Andrew Robinson and Ruth Ida Harvey Robinson. He was a resident of Port Arthur for more than 80 years and retired from Gulf Oil as a machinist after 42 years of service. He was also a lifetime member of the Port Arthur Masonic Lodge #1264. George proudly served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corp. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Robinson; daughter Cheryl Robinson Jones; and son Christopher Lee Robinson. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Robinson of Groves; two grandchildren, Jill Robinson Goomda, and Jennifer Reid; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Reverend Adam Muckleroy officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
