George Nolan Thomas, 67, a native of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. George was born February 8, 1950 in Port Arthur, Texas to James Thomas and Elizabeth Bailey Thomas. He was a resident of Port Neches for 19 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Groves. George retired from Star Enterprise after 25 years of service as a first class carpenter. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Burton "Bubba" Thomas; brothers-in-law, Steve Baker, Rusty Rodgers and Don Levitt; father and mother-in-law, Mel and Katie Baker. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Becky Thomas of Port Neches; daughters, Chera Thomas Latiolais and Shayna Thomas both of Groves; sisters, Ann Levitt of Allen and Dianna Rodgers of Silsbee; grandchildren, Lauren Hale, Shaylea Thomas, and Cade Latiolais; and sister-in-law, Sue Baker; nieces, Becky Levitt, Missy Bonnin, Amber Conner, Mindy Morris, Ashley Baker; and nephew, Tommy Rodgers. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Marty Boddie officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

What fond memories of living next to George and Becky! Oh my - I remember the Christmas lights adventures thevtwo of them had outside every year. Oh Becky and girls I am so very sorry. George is in heaven now with Dick praising God! Love y'all!
