George Travis Gloar

George Travis Gloar, 79, of Nederland, Texas passed away March 16, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 23, 1931 in Childress, Texas to the late J. D. and Effie Gilbreath Gloar. He retired from the military where he served his country proudly in the U. S. Army. While serving, George earned the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Service Bars, Army Occupation Medal Japan, and the Combat Infantry Badge.A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas at 1:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the ion of Melancon39s Funeral Home in Nederland.He is survived by his wife, Helen Stark Gloar of Nederland numerous stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, and stepgreatgrandchildren.
