Gerald "Jerry" Borell, 88, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Sabine House in Orange, Texas. He was born March 9, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas to O.J. Borell and Theresa Roan Borell. Jerry was lifelong Port Arthur resident and retired from Dupont Orange as an instrument foreman after 38 years of service. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Port Arthur, and was also a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Borell, and his infant son, Steven Gerald Borell. Survivors include his wife, Jewell Hill Borell of Bridge City; daughter, Jane Dunn and husband, Judge Derry Dunn of Orange; two grandchildren, Sarah Harmon McDow and Dr. Philip Harmon; four great-grandchildren, Andy, Luke, Rachel and Timothy McDow. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Bob Boone and Judge Derry Dunn officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
