Gerald Robert Delino

1935 ∼ 2026

Gerald Robert Delino, of Port Neches, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2026.

He was born on August 15, 1935, to Earl and Bertha Delino in Henry, Louisiana.

He was a proud Air Force veteran and had a long career as a mechanic at St. Mary Hospital. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, especially crafting gifts for his loved ones. Upon retirement, he traveled the continental US with his devoted wife of 42 years, Carolyn White Delino, of Port Neches.

Family and friends fondly remember and looked forward to his colorful life experiences and anecdotes, often making all present laugh with his sharp tongue and quick wit.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Fern Copell, and brother Raymond Delino. He is also reunited with his loving canine companions, Puggie and Buster.

He was the loving father of three children: Arlene Diaz and her husband Rene, of Luling, Louisiana; Ronald Delino and his wife, Mary, of Fannett; and Nancy Blitch and her husband, Bubba, of Lumberton. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored him endlessly.

Per Gerald’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to step-son Derwin Dixson and his wife Jennifer for their care and compassion for Gerald over the last several months of his life.

I don't have the words to express how I loved Jerry. I will miss him, his stories, advice and his "quick wit and sharp tongue" until we meet again.

Gerald, my dear cousin, I enjoyed all the time we had together in my life you meant the world to me. And all the talks that you and I and Carolyn had on the phone. I love you and you will be missed forever.

My sweet Uncle Gerald. Who am I going to have as a partner for dominoes now? We could sure put it on David and Carolyn, couldn’t we? We have such precious memories of you that will last a lifetime, and I thank God to have you so long. I love you and will see you soon.

I had the pleasure of meeting Gerald many years ago and he was always super friendly and had something funny to say and make me laugh. I also worked with him while I was at St. Mary hospital for many years. So very sorry for this great loss, Arlene, Ronnie, and Nancy. I know he will be missed…you all are in my prayers.
