Gerald J. Morrell, 72, of Port Neches, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Gerald was born on March 10, 1945, to the late Charlie Kelly Morrell and Lula Barras Morrell. He was in the United States Army Reserves and a master craftsman at Texaco, with 35 years of service.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Janice Wood Morrell of Port Neches; son, Eric Morrell and wife, Marie of Magnolia, TX; daughter, Ingrid VanHaverbeke and husband, Chip of Port Neches; grandchildren, Brooke Morrell, Ashley, Meagan and Hunter VanHaverbeke. He is preceded in death by his parents; late wife, Gail Tribe Morrell; brother, Kenneth Morrell and sister, Carol Ann Morrell Perrio.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 4:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, with Father Jaison officiant. The interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
