Geraldine Legay Rebert, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed from this life to her Savior on July 30, 2019. She was born to Juanita Clark and Gerald Weaver on September 11, 1942 in Silsbee, TX. She married her first love, Clinton Rebert, and would have celebrated 57 years of marriage in October. They had two children, Stacy and Clint.
Geraldine was an amazing mother, always showering love (and discipline!) on her children, constantly teaching them how to be kind and honest and successful in their lives. She loved her husband Clinton with all her heart and was a faithful wife continuously giving love, support, and understanding. She was a supportive daughter and loved and cared for her mother, Juanita, with a strong determination to recover everything they had lost in the past. And the love she had for her grandchildren, Kolby, Kalen, and Camrynne, was never impacted by the distance between them; she was aggressively active and present in their lives and would have given her own life to protect them, and they loved her dearly. She was also extremely close to her in laws, Barbara Little & Howard Fabre and Glenda & Jimmy Meaux, always making diligent effort to spend time with them regularly. She also dearly loved all her cousins on her mother's side.
Geraldine lived life to the fullest, always smiling and loving on people with kind words, gifts, and food. She loved to laugh and always found ways to bring about laughter wherever she was. She never forgot a birthday or special day and continuously proved that family and close friends were the most important things to her. She always had the best advice, the biggest heart, the happiest smile, and the best food! The void that she leaves behind in the lives of a great many people is too big!
We wish to honor and remember Geraldine for her love, commitment, and faithfulness to all of us. Please join us in doing so on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland. A gathering with food and fellowship will begin immediately after the service at the American Legion Hall also in Nederland. If desired, a donation can be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers, as this was Geraldine's favorite charity.
