Geraldine Legay Rebert

1942 ∼ 2019

Geraldine Legay Rebert

Geraldine Legay Rebert, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed from this life to her Savior on July 30, 2019. She was born to Juanita Clark and Gerald Weaver on September 11, 1942 in Silsbee, TX. She married her first love, Clinton Rebert, and would have celebrated 57 years of marriage in October. They had two children, Stacy and Clint.

Geraldine was an amazing mother, always showering love (and discipline!) on her children, constantly teaching them how to be kind and honest and successful in their lives. She loved her husband Clinton with all her heart and was a faithful wife continuously giving love, support, and understanding. She was a supportive daughter and loved and cared for her mother, Juanita, with a strong determination to recover everything they had lost in the past. And the love she had for her grandchildren, Kolby, Kalen, and Camrynne, was never impacted by the distance between them; she was aggressively active and present in their lives and would have given her own life to protect them, and they loved her dearly. She was also extremely close to her in laws, Barbara Little & Howard Fabre and Glenda & Jimmy Meaux, always making diligent effort to spend time with them regularly. She also dearly loved all her cousins on her mother's side.

Geraldine lived life to the fullest, always smiling and loving on people with kind words, gifts, and food. She loved to laugh and always found ways to bring about laughter wherever she was. She never forgot a birthday or special day and continuously proved that family and close friends were the most important things to her. She always had the best advice, the biggest heart, the happiest smile, and the best food! The void that she leaves behind in the lives of a great many people is too big!

We wish to honor and remember Geraldine for her love, commitment, and faithfulness to all of us. Please join us in doing so on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland. A gathering with food and fellowship will begin immediately after the service at the American Legion Hall also in Nederland. If desired, a donation can be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers, as this was Geraldine's favorite charity.

Wow what a Lady I am so blessed by Geraldine being in my life. She had a great smile and never ever meet a stranger. This old man will miss her very much she was a sister to me for sure and man could she cook and a great cup of coffee. She would drive miles out of her way to safe money or cash in coupons. She was so much fun on trips . I am so blessed to have her and Clinton in my life. She is in heaven with her Son now.

I wrote this for Geraldine: I'm sitting here wondering Is this really happening? Too soon too quick We were just sitting in the back seat of our car Returning from our trip I wonder if you captured all the love You searched for in your life I know you conquered all the rules Of mother, daughter wife. You yearned for a larger family Sister, brother one or two But your friends became your family Because they loved you and they knew. I'll think of you when I hear the sounds Of the bands playing Zydeco You showed that smile When you heard those sounds Being played on the radio. The memories that you leave behind They'll spring from the depths of time They'll grace the ever moving pictures Deep inside my mind I embrace fond memories And I will until my end I love you and I'll miss you My sister and my friend. Thank you Geraldine for being such a good wife to my brother. I will always be remembering you as: The little Banty rooster The QVC Queen The ultimate shopper The dancing fool Little Tina Turner And last but not least Little Juanita

Geraldine was a bright light on a cloudy day. You could be having a gloomy day and she would bring a smile to your face She was my friend, and my family. She could sense everything I was feeling and always had a shoulder for me as I for her. She was funny, a prankster, she challenged life to the fullest. She loved her family like no other woman I have ever known She once told me she needed to have a talk with me about "the facts of life" to me I was not concerned because I was 55, but I was game. Her facts of life was helping me to fit into the family, helping me to understand the love everyone had for each other! She accepted me for me. My world feels a lot emptier with her not in it. She was such a beautiful soul, she gave you all her love unconditionally, she expected nothing back. When God accepted her beautiful soul into heaven he acquired one of the most beautiful Rose's from this earth. I miss my friend, my cousin, but I know she is saving a place for our entire family in heaven. Dance your dance and sing your songs sweet Geraldine, we will see you soon. All my love, Julie

I knew and met this beautiful, wonderful lady, through my fiance' , Barbara Little who is Clinton Rebert's sister. She always had a smile and a warm hug for me whenever I would see her.. All four of us would take trips together. During our road trips we sang, laughed and had the time of our lives. In the few short years that I knew her she always uplifted me into a happy place. This great lady will truly be missed by all who knew her. Geraldine's heart was second to none and God, family, and friends were her most cherished treasures. I will always think of her and Clinton as my wonderful Sister and Brother . R.I.P my sweet Friend Howard Fabre
