Gladys Caroline Cowart, 95, of Mont Belvieu, Texas died Saturday April 30, 2011 at her residence. Gladys was born March 8, 1916 in Soso, Mississippi to Magnus Leon Keys and Susan Odilia Knight Keys.Gladys was a resident of Groves for 55 years before moving to Mont Belvieu, Texas.She retired from Groves Pharmacy after working for 14 years as a buyer of gifts and cosmetics. She was a member of the V.F.W Ladies Auxiliary #4820 of Port Neches, Texas and the Gulf/Chevron Retiree Group. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church of Groves and The Wildwood/Village Mills United Methodist Church. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Samuel Edgar Cowart;and her two brothers, Cecil Keys and Otis Keys. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend David Foster of Wildwood Village Mills United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Gladys is survived by two daughters Carolyn Hancock and husband Roy Glen Hancock of Village Mills, Texas and Pam Sapp and husband Joe Sapp of Beach City, Texas; three grandchildren Connie and James Foxworth of Warren, Texas, Teri and Fred Cappadona of Beach City, Texas and Chris and Candice Sapp of Deer Park, Texas; six great grandchildren Levi Foxworth, Kyle, Blake, and Kaitlyn Cappadona and Addison and Aiden Sapp and numerous loving nieces and nephews from Mississippi. The family would like to express a special thanks to her wonderful caregivers Leila Espinosa, Gwyn Matthew, Shelly Guerra, Barbara Rodriguez and Kim Gaitan, also to A-Care Home Health, Dr. Federico Dancel's office and special friends Pat and Cleston Fisher and Marilyn and Mike Kingman. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Building Fund of the Wildwood/ Village Mills United Methodist Church 5963 FM 3063 Road Village Mills, Texas 77663 or the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #4820 633 Grigsby Port Neches, Texas 77651.
