Glen Sheffield, 89, of Port Neches, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Bonne Vie Nursing Home in Port Arthur.
Glen was born in Beaumont, Texas, on September 15, 1933, to Thomas Wesley Sheffield and Motie Ouida Sheffield. He was raised in Port Neches, Tx, and graduated from Port Neches High School in 1950.
After graduating, he was in the US Army stationed in Fort McClellan, in Anniston, Alabama, where he met Betty Barnett. Glen and Betty were married in Georgia in 1957, then moved to Port Neches, Tx, where he owned and
operated Sheffield’s Paint and Body Shop in Port Neches for over 50 years.
Glen loved spending time at his camp, and he could work on and fix just about anything. However, his greatest joy was his family and lifelong friends. He loved attending Southside Baptist Church and made a cross in front of the church. In addition, he made Bar-Be-Que and fire pits in his later life.
Visitation is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at Southside Baptist Church in Port Neches, Tx.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church in Port Neches. Officiating will be Reverend Aaron Little. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Ivas Sportsman; Gayle Roberts; Sharon Graham; and brother, Marvin Sheffield
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Sheffield; son, Mike Barnett and his wife Monica of Port Neches, TX; daughter, Keitha Allen of Cedar Creek Lake, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan Barnett and his wife Jennifer of Port Neches, TX; Jessica McManus and her husband Todd; Ashlyn Dover and her husband Scott; Charity Allen; Aubrey Allen and his wife Jolea; Brent Allen and his wife Crystal; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Jewel Pittman of Jacksonville, TX.
