Glenn Alan Mabry, 81, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at his residence in Nederland with his loving family by his side.

Glenn was born on April 1, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Beaumont High in 1960 and later went to T.C.U. and graduated from there in 1964. Glenn was a retired executive with Metal Forms, Inc. for over forty years and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. He loved to fish and hunt and he especially like going to the Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles with his wife of forty-one years, Stella and other family members and friends. Glenn loved his family dearly and treated everyone with love and kindness.

Survivors include his wife, Stella Cavaretta Mabry of Nederland; children, Susan Murff and her husband Bill of Magnolia, Texas, Amy Bryant and her husband Chase of Kansas City, Kansas, Mark Glover of Nederland, Allyson Mabry of Kansas City and Michele Clements and her husband Jim of Nederland; grandchildren, Mandy Kuftic and her husband George, Jason Murff, Mabry Glover, Joshua Clements, Brayden Clements, Connor Bryant and Rylie Bryant; great grandchildren, Hailey Kuftic, Henry Kuftic, Harrison Kuftic, Harper Kuftic and Hollyn Kuftic; brother-in-law’s, Lewis Cavaretta of Tyler, Texas and Phin Washer of Houston, Texas; two dear friends, Ann Reynolds and Cindy Meyers.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, with a Rosary to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland. A Chapel Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Ray Hunter, Rich Fledderjohn, Sid Ginakis, Henry Hinijosea, Bryce Gregg and Tommy Taylor

I am a very very good friend of Bill and Susan Murff. I grew up with Bill in Beaumont . I am so sorry to hear about Susan’s father passing. I know how she feels because I too lost my father in the year 2000. I feel unfortunate that I did not personally know Susan’s father but listening to all the comments and perished moments from friends and family, he will truly be missed. I only wish I had the opportunity to meet him. Our thoughts and prayers are with all his loved ones. May God Bless him and all his family.

Stella, Susan, Mark and family, words cannot express the emptiness I feel having learned of Glenn’s passing. He was my friend, my mentor and, on occasion, my voice. While the years have passed, I still find myself smiling at the many memories that I will carry forever. Thanks Glenn for everything you did for me and, didn’t have to. I love you my friend, rest in peace. Andy

Oh the memories…. Too many…. How would i even start??? Glenn fussin over the dadgum Christmas decorations, or him in his cutoff jeans and tshirt and tennis shoes- working in the garden- so proud when the greens Got as tall as the tomato plants!! And then there was the tomatoes!! We loved finding Stella and Glenn’s surprise grocery bags of produce hanging on the doorknobs!! And then there was the “boat” trips to the casino….. where he would tell Stella “call Aunt Betty and your momma to see if they wanna go to the boat!” :wink::wink: of course they did, and those two would giggle like school Girls with their surprise lunches Stella Would pack- and they would dig into them before they got to Nederland Avenue! And then there was the time he helped out with scholarships, cars and houses…. The list goes on and on…. His rewards in Heaven are large and im Sure our Savior met him With open arms telling him- well done my Good and Faithful servant- enter the gates with Thanksgiving. I know we are sad, but he is rejoicing with those gone before him, and we will be together again in the blink of an eye.
