Gloria McGee, 97 of Port Neches, Texas, peacefully passed away from this life to be with her loving savior, the Lord Jesus, on December 2, 2022. Gloria was born on May 15, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas, to her parents Ignace and Lucette LeBlanc. During her long life, she witnessed and lived through many things that are read about in history books today. Early in her life, she worked in a restaurant that her father operated and also worked at the Gulf Refinery in Port Arthur. In her later years, she was a successful sales representative for Copper Craft Guild, earning numerous awards and trips. The greatest joys of her life were serving the Lord and being with her family that she loved dearly. She was at virtually every family event and activity her children and grandchildren were involved in. She also enjoyed shopping, traveling and watching old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies.
Survivors include her brother Gerald LeBlanc, her two daughters Tammy McGee and Sherry Desmond and her son-in-law Sam Desmond, Sr. Her grandchildren include Sam Desmond, Jr. and his wife Liz and Steve Desmond and his friend Shelly Chapman. Great-grandchildren include, Matthew, Aaron, Ashley and Stevie Desmond, II. Great-great grandchildren include Mika Norris, Lilli and Apollo Desmond and Aisen Desmond along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Chester McGee, her parents and brothers Douglas LeBlanc and Ashton LeBlanc.
Gloria’s arrangements are being handled by Melancon’s of Nederland and her memorial service will be at Triumph Church in Nederland, Texas. Visitation will be 9 AM to 11 AM Saturday, December 10, followed by the memorial service 11 AM to 12 noon.
