Gloria Elizabeth Stark, 96, of Beauxart Gardens passed away peacefully Monday September 14, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Gloria was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on July 13, 1924 to the late Joseph Concienne and Beatrice Breaux Concienne. Her life was filled with joy to take care of her husband Kenneth and her eight children. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland where she served in the Altar Society, and the Bereavement committee.
Gloria in survived by her daughters, Sheron Mallory of Nederland, Rene LaHaye and her husband Paul of Beauxart Gardens, and Charlotte Melancon and her husband Craig of Nederland; her sons, Kenny Stark and his wife Linda of Katy, Phillip Stark and his wife Shirley of Spring, Wayne Stark of Port Neches and Brent Stark of Nederland; her sisters, Mary Worthy of Orangefield, Genelle Austin of Nederland, Camella Woodard and her husband Bill of Temple, Gayle Sheppard and her husband Oatis of Nederland and Judy Rogers and her husband James of The Woodlands; her brothers, Lynn Concienne and his wife Cosette of Beauxart Gardens and Pat Concienne of Washington State. She is also survived by her twenty-two grandchildren and forty-four great grandchildren. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Kenneth, also her daughter Carolyn Boneaux; her daughter-in-law Dana Stark; her son-in-law Jerry Mallory; her great granddaughter Ashlyn Raborn; her granddaughter-in-law Ashley Mallory; her brothers, Anthony Concienne and Joseph Concienne; her sisters, Annabelle Babin, Beatrice DeLord, Marion DuBose, and Theresa Dickinson. Her life was filled with love and her greatest joy was to take care of her family.
A gathering of the family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 with a Rosary to be prayed at 5:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic in Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo in Nederland with Msgr. Dan Malain and Father Jaison Jacob officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.
The Stark family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Liz and Arlene for the compassion and care given to their mother during her time of need.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials can be made to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Building Fund or to the St. Vincent DePaul.
