Gloria Jean Stimac, 92, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023. She was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on June 22, 1930 to the late Maurice Vidrine and Edna Sylvester Vidrine.
Gloria was a parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland and a longtime member of Les Chanteurs Acadien du Texas Cajun Choir. She was a woman of God that loved and cherished her family.
Those left behind to cherish Gloria’s memory are her daughter, Rhonda Short and her husband, Art; her son, Max Stimac and his wife, Suzanne; her grandchildren, Christy Limero and her husband, Chris, Tabatha Hopson and her husband, Jarrett, Ashley Turner and her husband, Brian; her great grandchildren, Jenna Limero, Dillon Limero, Emily Limero, Macoy Hopson, Madden Hopson, Ryder Turner, Kilei Turner, Slade Turner; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 63 years, Maxie Stimac; her infant daughter, Charlotte Stimac; her infant great grandson, Brady Turner; and her sisters, Marie Strandridge and Jeannette Barlow.
A gathering of family and friends for a visitation will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Saturday January 14, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, Texas on Saturday January 14, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Compassus Hospice for the love and support they have shown Gloria during her time of need.
