Goldie M. Broussard

Goldie M. Broussard, a cherished secretary at a doctor's office and a beloved pillar of her family, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in Nederland, Texas. Born on January 15, 1945, Goldie lived a life marked by devotion to her loved ones and a warm spirit that touched all who knew her.

Goldie’s lifelong passion for music enriched her days, often filling her home with melodies that lifted the hearts of those around her. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, she found joy in sharing the thrills of the game with family and friends. Yet, it was her love for cooking that truly showcased her generous nature, as she delighted in preparing meals that brought everyone together, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

She cherished her family above all else—her sons Kevin Broussard (Angela) and Brent Broussard (Raven), both of Nederland, stood by her with unwavering love and respect. She was a proud grandmother to Christen Broussard, Greg Broussard (Kinzi), Graiden Broussard, Bryant Broussard, Brent Gillentine, and Natalie Gillentine. She will always be remembered by her great-grandchildren, Breanna Theriot (Hannah), Conner Wales (Hayle), Kaleb Broussard, Marilyn Wales, Joseph Wales, and Gage Broussard and her great great-grandchildren, Destyny Smith plus two on the way, each carrying forward the legacy of affection and kindness she instilled. Goldie’s companionship extended also to her steadfast fur baby, Toby, whose presence brought her comfort and joy.

Goldie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Richard Broussard, and her beloved parents, Tom and Ethel Smith, and her sisters, Billie Ruth Allan and Jennie Lanette Breaux, whose memories remain a guiding light for her family.

The community and family will gather to honor Goldie’s memory at a visitation that will be held on May 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service from 2:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627. Goldie will be honored at a graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park following the funeral service.

Goldie M. Broussard’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and quiet strength. Those who had the privilege to know her will remember a woman whose heart was as expansive as her smile, whose legacy of care and warmth will forever remain in the lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
