Grace May Fritz

Grace May Fritz, 90, of Groves, Texas passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Lake Arthur Place in Port Arthur. Grace was born May 18, 1926 in Amherst, Ohio to Irvin Standen and Cora Stein Standen. She was a resident of this area for 66 years and former member of St. Mark's First United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. She was also one of the founding members of the United Board of Missions. Grace was a lifelong gardener and loved ballroom dancing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fritz; son Brad Fritz; sisters, Edna, Mildred, Mabel, Irma, Norma, Janis, and Ada; brothers, Dwight and Wayne. Survivors include her daughter, Faith Sauerwein and her husband Doug of Groves; son, Mark Fritz and his wife Janey of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Laura Fritz, John Fritz, Devon McCabe, and Dylana Sauerwein; and great-grandchild, Indigo McCabe. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
