Guadalupe Gutierrez, 88, of Nederland passed away, Friday February 16, 2018. Guadalupe was born June 15, 1929 in Derby, Texas to the late Filberto and Augustine Najara Gutierrez. He served in the United States Army. He was also a practicing Catholic. Retired from Gulf Oil with 36 years of service.

Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Yolanda Garcia Gutierrez of Nederland. His sons Guadalupe Gutierrez Jr. of Nederland, George Gutierrez of Nederland, Ricky Gutierrez of Lumberton, James Gutierrez of Rusk, and Gilbert Gutierrez of Nederland. His daughter Magda Kelly of Nederland. He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, his sisters Anita Ramirez of Houston and Beatrice Guerra of Lufkin. He had numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Julian, Baltazar, and Joe Gutierrez.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s funeral home on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
