Gussie Marie Steele, 84, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2014 at the Dogwood Trail Manor in Woodville, Texas. She was born on November 11, 1929 in China, Texas to the late Wilson John Waguespack and Julia Marie Gaudet. She worked in retail sales as a manager.

Funeral services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of the family and friends will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gussie is survived by her daughters, Sandra Smith and husband, Randy of Killeen, TX; Brenda Mayer and husband, Terry of Warren, TX; Margaret Thibodeaux and husband, Bob of Sugarland, TX; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Arless Steele, daughter, Rhonda Steele, grandchild, William Pete Mayer, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
