Gwen Foreman

Gwen Foreman, 91, of Groves passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Summer Place Nursing/Rehab in Beaumont. Gwen was born April 27, 1926 in Brunswick, Georgia to George Myers Smith and Nellie Cox Smith. She was a longtime resident of Groves and a member of Groves First Baptist Church. Gwen retired from Groves Equipment Company as a secretary after many years of service. Gwen was an avid reader and instilled the love of reading to her children. She also volunteered at the Groves Library for many years and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Frank Foreman; son, Myers Foreman; two brothers, George Smith, Jr. and Malcolm Smith. Survivors include two sons, Frank A. Foreman II and wife Jackie of Call, Texas, David M. Foreman and wife Paula of League City, Texas; daughter-in-law, Diane Foreman of Groves, Texas; sister, Veronica Thomas and husband John of Brunswick, GA; five grandchildren, Robyn LaGrappe and husband Craig, Brian Foreman and wife Teresia, Corey Foreman and wife Alana, Jason Foreman, Matt Foreman; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie LaGrappe, Avery LaGrappe, Trevor Bush, and Barry Chichester. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with Reverend Charles Miller, officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral home in Groves.
