Gwen Merendino MeyersGriffith, 49, of Vidor, passed away Jan. 15, 2011 at Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Gwen was born Aug. 31, 1961 in Beaumont to the late Morris Jr. and Gloria Merendino. She worked as a LVN at Mid Jeff Hospital, and also Home Health.Gwen is survived by her husband, Larry Griffith of Vidor daughter, Amber Meyers and son, Rodney Meyers, both of Nederland grandmother, Thelma Merendino of Beaumont sister, Charlotte Van Horn and husband, Rick of Vidor and brother, Wayne Merendino and wife, Paula of Beaumont.A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillebrandt Cemetery in LaBelle. A gathering of family and friends will follow at 7330 Indian River Dr., Port Arthur.Flowers or donations may be sent to Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland.

Larry,Amber,Rodney and Merendino Family I am so sad this day had to come I know in my heart she is in a better place with no more pain.I will miss my Best Friend every day for the rest of my life but know one day we will all be together again.We must cherish all the memories of our time we had this wonderful woman in our lives.So many things like the Dallas Cowboys,Rolling Stones,Bealls,Red Lobster and Mikes oatmeal cookies are things I will never be able to see or hear that wont bring me to tears.If you ever need me I am a phone call away.Love all of you very much

The Merendino Family.I was so sorrry to hear the news about Gwen. We met when she moved into ourneighborhood and we soon became friends. I can still remember all the daysin Jr. High school and at Forest Park High school. We had some great times togetherand i will never forget them. My prayers go out to all the family members.
