Gweneth "Gigi" Carol Ancelet

Gweneth "Gigi" Carol Ancelet, a beloved soul, was born on August 3, 1955, in Orange, Texas. She departed this earthly realm on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Groves, Texas, making her life a cherished gift for all who knew her. Gigi’s vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to family and community will be fondly remembered by many.

Gigi had a remarkable career at the United States Postal Service, where she served as a window clerk for an impressive fifty years and eight months. Her steadfast commitment to her work exemplified a strong sense of duty and responsibility, earning her the respect of colleagues and patrons alike. Beyond her professional achievements, Gigi was a woman of deep faith and compassion, proud to be a member of the Golden Triangle Church on the Rock, where she often shared her kindness and support with others.

Education held great importance to Gigi, who earned a Bachelor's Degree early in life, using her knowledge and skills to nurture those around her. Known for her warm personality, Gigi was always taking care of others and derived immense joy from spoiling her grandchildren. She eagerly saved up each year to ensure that Christmas was a magical time for her beloved grandchildren. Her laughter was infectious, and her love of travel and good food contributed to many happy memories with family and friends.

Gigi's life was also marked by her pride in giving back. She demonstrated her generous spirit through supporting a little girl in Kenya named Hope, embodying her compassionate nature and commitment to helping those in need.

Gigi leaves behind her former husband, Dave Frakes; her father, Polycarpe Ancelet; son, Brandon Frakes and his wife, Bevin of Groves; daughter, Devon Fults and her husband, Josh of Orange; grandchildren: Sean, Lilia, Mallie, Jonathan, Hayden, Hadley, and Hollyn; brother, Ted Ancelet and his wife, Tracy; and a host of family and friends who will continue to honor her memory.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Ancelet, and her sister, Becky Sumlin, whose spirits now join her in eternal rest.

Visitation will be held on November 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the funeral service commencing at 4:00 PM, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas 77619. 

Those who knew and loved Gweneth "Gigi" Carol Ancelet are invited to gather and celebrate a life well-lived, a spirit embraced by love, and a legacy of kindness that will persist in the hearts of her family and friends.

So sorry for your loss. Gwen and I were friends for many years, we met at The Temple. We shared lots of hugs and laughs.
