Harold Douglas Crain, 71, of Nederland, Texas passed away on April 22, 2024, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Harold was born on September 3, 1952, in Bastrop, Louisiana to Opal L. Crain and Donald Douglas Crain.
Harold was a retired Corrections Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, He was known not only for his dedication to his career but also for his passion for fishing as an avid member of The Saltwater Anglers of Texas. He was also a longtime member of West Groves Church of Christ.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Opal L. (Barker) Crain and Donald Douglas Crain; and his wife of forty-eight years, Barbara Ann Crain.
Harold is survived by his loving daughter, Laura Zanchetti of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. In addition to his immediate family, Harold is survived by his brothers, David Crain and his wife Sheila; Darrell Crain and his wife Barbara; and Donald "Donny" Crain; sister, Lori Crain; four nieces; and six nephews.
Throughout his life, Harold touched the hearts of many with his kindness and friendly demeanor. His dedication to public service as a Corrections Officer will always be remembered fondly by those who knew him. Harold's love for fishing brought joy to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace knowing that he leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be cherished by his friends and family.
