Harold "Lynn" Smith, born on May 24, 1962, in Jena, Louisiana, departed this life on August 14, 2024, in Nederland, Texas. Lynn was a remarkable individual whose influence and passion for art and science fiction left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
In professional life, Lynn dedicated two decades of exemplary service at Impact, where he contributed significantly to product assembly, known for his diligence and skill. His creativity extended beyond the workplace; he was a brilliant artist able to draw, paint, and sketch with a talent that captivated many. Lynn possessed a deep appreciation for literature and film, especially within the realm of science fiction. His enthusiasm for the Star Wars saga and related genres became a beloved aspect of his personality, fostering a connection with fellow enthusiasts and nurturing engaging conversations among friends and family.
Lynn is survived by his loving family, including his son, Austin Smith of Nederland, Texas; his daughter, Candice Sullinger of Dallas, Texas; his sons, Justin Puffpaff of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Tristan Richard of Seattle, Washington; and his brother, Dean Smith and his wife, Michelle, of Nederland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jerry Smith, who will forever be honored in the memories of those he left behind.
A gathering of family and friends in celebration of Lynn's life will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, 77627. As we gather to remember Lynn, let us reflect on the joy he brought into our lives and the legacy of artistry, creativity, and love for fantasy he leaves with us. Harold "Lynn" Smith will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
