Harry Earl Dartez, 79, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at Mid Jefferson Hospital in Nederland, Texas. Harry was born June 8, 1934 in New Iberia, Louisiana to Joe Dartez and Mildred Moss Dartez. He was a resident of Port Arthur for over 70 years and was a retired machinist superintendent having worked at Costal Marine and Seimans Apparatus. He was a U.S. Army veteran and former member of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Posse. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Dartez and sister, Betty Sipole. Survivors include his wife, Janice Wehmeyer Dartez of Port Arthur; daughters, Jeannie Smith and husband Mike of Plano, Korie Ashley and husband Darrin of Mauriceville; son, Billy Dartez of Port Arthur; sister, Mary Fisher; brother, Richard Dartez and wife Marilyn of Bridge City; grandchildren, Alisha Smith and husband Will, Amber Smith, Chase Gordy, Konner Ashley and Colt Ashley. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Richard Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p. m. at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dr. Michael Keller.
