Harry Joseph Simon, 82, of Port Neches, Texas died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at his residence. Harry was born December 10, 1928 in Rayne, Louisiana to Jean Simon and Amelia Breaux Simon. He was a resident of the Golden Triangle area for 67 years and a retired Longshoreman with the International Longshoreman Association. He was a loving and generous father and grandfather and was always just a phone call away. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and traveled the world as a Merchant Marine. Surviving relatives include his daughter, Rhonda Kay Wagner and husband, Scott and their daughter, Keely of Katy, Texas; son, Michael Joseph Simon and wife, Jodi of Port Neches, Texas and their children, Peyton and Camden. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Azar Simon, August Simon, Aubrey Simon, Vernice Simon, Jean Arick Simon, John Emery Simon and sister, Odette Credeur and very special sister-in-law, Angel Simon and niece, Eve Mildred Simon Doucet. Also a very special surviving nephew, Daniel Simon. His greatest pride was his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of his daughter Rhonda and son Michael for their achievements in life and most of all for being wonderful parents. Peyton Hope Simon made her Papaw proud with her dancing, grades, and her desire to be an attorney. He loved to see his granddaughter, Keely Grace Wagner. He said that she was his little Rhonda. He loved to spend time with her and she always had a sweet smile and hug for her Papaw. He loved the art work she made for him and kept it all. Camden Joseph Simon was his Papaw's boy. Camden had in his blood a love for fast cars and motorcycles. At age 4 his Papaw and Daddy had taught him the make and model of most cars. We had many precious times watching Papaw live through the eyes of his grandchildren. In the hearts that love him, he will live on forever. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart. Psalm 34:18 Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Reverend Monsignor Bennie Patillo officiating. Rhonda, Mike and family, where do you begin to say how sorry we all are. As a child I have such good memories of driving to Port Arthur to see Uncle Harry and his family. Moma would insist we make the drive she always talked about Uncle Harry as a brother which he was to her. She would tell little stories about her and Uncle Harry going to the store with eggs so they could trade them for candy and how Uncle Harry would always drop his and end up borrowing some from her Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and I get great comfort knowing they are all together and welcoming him with open arms. I'm sure Popop has a cold beer waiting and Momom has something good on the stove cooking. Such a great man and will surely be missed and always loved. Trudy Doucet Blanchard

So sorry to hear about Harry passing recently. I used to always see him walking in our neighborhood until the last couple of years. Over the years he stopped to talk several times and was always bragging on his children. So sorry for you loss, may God be with you in this time of need. He will definitely be missed but always remembered.
