Hazel Nicholas Van De Hoef, 95, of Nederland, passed away peacefully at The Villages of Murfreesboro, TN on Saturday, August 28, 2021. After Hazel retired from OneGas, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a Blue Angel for two area Hospitals in Nederland, TX for 20 years.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Mike Nicholas and Elia Touchet George; her husband of 43 years, Adrian Van De Hoef Sr.; sisters, Laura Boyd, Dorothy Gann and granddaughter, Janette Van De Hoef.
Hazel is survived by four children, Mike Van De Hoef and his wife Marilyn of Lockhart, TX; Gayle Yancey and her husband Wayne of Murfreesboro, TN; Steve Van De Hoef of Dale, TX; Patti Gengo and her husband Tony of Sachse, TX; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; also, her brother Mike Nicholas, and several nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Saturday December 18, 2021 followed by a visitation and a Celebration of Hazel’s Life at 10:30 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with Father John Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches
