Helen Lucille Myers

Helen Lucille Myers, 80, of Port Neches passed away on April 9, 2011. Born March 25, 1931, in Waterproof, La., she was the daughter of Silas and Alice Wright and had been a resident of Port Neches since 1953. Helen retired as a respiratory therapist in 1994 from Doctors Hospital. She was a loving Christian wife and mother.Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Henry A. Myers, daughters, Wanda and husband Don Mayfield of Groves, Cindy Hooker and Michelle Forse and son, Alvin Myers of Port Neches and her twin sister, Leola James of Prairieville, La nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Wayman, Jack and Clifton Wright and sisters Maxine Graham and Dorothy Mendes.Pallbearers will be Coby Rich, Cale Rich, Kenny Brown, Danny Mouhot, Shaun Myers and Jeff Halbert and alternate Trevor Johnston.Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 1:00 pm at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland with Pastor David Logan of the Word of Life Center in Groves officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.

I am the daughter of her brother Clifton Wright. I only got to talk to her twice in my life. But, I was very grateful that she took the time to talk to me about my dad. I know she will be missed. So sorry about her passing.

Lucille, Was one of my favorites in the family that you could always talk to and she would understand. She was always there when I was taking care of my fatherinlaw and needed something or just to talk to. Lucille Meyers was my friend when we worked together at Doctors Hospital.She is aWonderful person and friend. I always enjoyed being with her.
