Helen Martin Simon, 94, of Port Neches passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022. Helen was born in Port Neches, Texas on October 6, 1927 to the late Meonce Martin and Lena (Bertolio) Martin.
Helen was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Helen worked in photography for many years as a consultant for Olan Mills. She had a heart of gold and was very generous to others. She loved dancing, eating boiled crabs and drinking Dr. Pepper.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Heath Presswood; and sister, Clementine Hall.
Those left behind to cherish Helen’s memory are her children, Rose Reeves and husband, David of Port Neches, TX; Kris Zapata of Port Neches, TX; James “Bubba” Walling and wife, Tammy of Port Neches, TX; and Kevin Frasier and girlfriend, Techa Bergeron of Port Neches, TX; grandchildren, David Reeves, Jr (Carrie), Matthew Reeves (Kim), Rachel Langehennig (Willie), Timothy Reeves (Sarah), Summer Miller (Mike), Taylor Walling (Trace), Derek Moreno, Chelsea Hoffman (Jake), Kaci Netto (Nick), and Trevor Frasier; great grandchildren, Triston, Keely, Macy, Emily, Hailey, Marley, Joel, Madelynn, Elaina, Addilyn, Sadie, Owen, Andie, Hendrix, Atticus, Meagan; and great-great grandson, Ryder.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
