Helen Virginia Tomlinson

Helen Virginia Tomlinson, 81, of Groves passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. She was born to Annie and Carl VanHess on October 18, 1928 in Many, Louisiana. She had been a resident of Groves for 60 years. Virginia was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Peter's. She was also involved with the DCCW, active with the Student Clerical Fund and a volunteer for Shots Across Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 with a Rosary at 7:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 1, 2010 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves with Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Robert VanHess. Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, B.G. "Buddy" Tomlinson, Sr.; her siblings, Clara Somerville and Francis "Jay" VanHess; her sons, Gene and his wife, Liz Tomlinson of Port Arthur, Mark and his wife, Carol Tomlinson of Groves, Dale and his wife, Ann Tomlinson of Germany; six grandchildren, Stephanie Coley, Marcus Tomlinson, Mark Steven Tomlinson, Carrie Tomlinson, Rebecca Sanders, Melissa Tomlinson, along with six great grandchildren, Cameron Coley, Triston Tomlinson, Candace Coley, Kennedy Tomlinson, Maci McCurley, Tallon Tomlinson, and Landen Sanders.
