" Butch" and I played Little League baseball together on the Red Sox team when we were age ten. His dad was one of our coaches and a good one. "Butch" continued to excel in baseball throughout his high school years and afterward. I always respected the Troy family as special with much love. I am saddened by our loss and I will always have fond memories of my days with Butch Troy. May he rest in Peace. -Joe Pat Hamby

What a great man and teacher! He truly cared about his students, still using defensive driving techniques he taught me ( he was very brave). Love and prayers to the family. Will always have fond memories of him.

There were 2 Butch's on the Royal Purple baseball and football teams. I was the other Butch, Butch Etheridge. I remember very clearly all the strengths mentioned in the other memorial statements and I became flooded with memories about our time together at BHS. How happy we were after defeating our nemesis, Port Author, in football for the first time since 1947! Butch was a gritty, tough athlete and leader of our team during our senior year in 1959. We both enjoyed our journey together in winning the 4A State Baseball Championship in 1959. Rest in Peace my great old teammate.....Butch Etheridge

Coach Troy was one of a kind. I’ve known him him since I was in first grade and would watch my brothers at baseball practice. I always looked up to him with the utmost respect. He will definitely be missed. May God give the family strength through their time of grieving. God bless! Randy LeBlanc

What I remember most about Coach was the kindness he showed to the Catholic kids, as we were called, when we had to go to public school after our school closed. Some teachers and fellow classmates laughed at us when we stood up to answer questions in class. Coach wouldn’t allow that. He quickly became our favorite teacher. Through the years, Coach became friends to the Catholic kids and their families. He also motivated me to be an educator for thirty-six years. I tried to show the kindness he showed me to my students. Rest in peace, Coach. You touched the lives of many, many kids. That, I know, earned you a lifetime to be with Jesus, the best teacher who ever lived.

Coach Troy was one of my life's biggest influences. I became a coach because of him. I loved him dearly. As a coach and educator, not a day, practice, or game went by where I didn't think of Coach. Great man, great life, great family, and great legacy. And he also taught me how to drive as well as block the first down lineman past the center on the play 332! Love you Coach!

Coach Troy taught me Driver’s Ed. The first day, on the way there, I had a wreck on my bike and busted my front teeth! He was very sympathetic then, but it was never easy! He was a great teacher, and I have good memories of him. RIP, Coach Troy.

Coach Troy was my favorite coach. He was a great help to me in my high school years. Don’t every make a mistake because that big ring on his finger was going to wack you on the helmet but now I know that it only meant that he new you were better than that. The quote I’ll always remember “Adversity is not defeat” RIP

Coach Troy was a force to reckon with when came to us who train under him. He taught us discipline and respect for ourselves and our team mates. Now when ever a Ref made a bad call he was the first to address the fellow and let him know his grievances. Win are lose he still had that look as if he was looking right inside you! I think I can say without a doubt he care for us all! RIP Coach Troy Pat Daigle Class of 74 :purple_heart:🤍:purple_heart:🤍

Coach Troy was my coach in the early seventies. He was hard on all of us because he knew we had a lot to give. He was a mentor to me and many others. He will be missed.
