Hildreth Mae Sessions, age 87, of Nederland, passed away Saturday morning, June 27th. She passed peacefully in her sleep at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Donna Sessions, where she was cared for and loved for the past 7 1/2 years.

This beautiful woman became a great friend and grandparent to me at a young age. We lived down the road from her weekend home and then permanent home when Pete retired. They attended many of our family functions through the years. My favorite memories of her was being allowed to go home with them to the Groves during the summer for a week. She spoiled us girls rotten just as if we were blood grandchildren. Shopping, eating out, the works! She and Pete would go out to eat on the weekends sometime and stop back by our house with each one of us a candy bar. I know that's a small thing to some folks but to us it was GREAT !We were definitely blessed to have had her in our lives. I will continue to keep you all in our prayers. Love my Sessions family <3

What can I say about my beautiful Aunt Pat? She was the sweetest, calmest person in the world. When I was a child, she would take me for entire summers to come and stay with her family. I don't remember her ever scolding or getting upset, even though I imagine my cousin Tommy and I could be a handful at times. She and my mother were sisters, almost like twins, being only eleven months apart. My mother used to joke that as pretty as she was, she had the bad luck to have a sister as beautiful as "Petite" (that's what the family called Pat), and that all the boys would drop her as soon as they saw Pat. But there was no real competition; they adored each other all their lives. And everyone who met them adored them both.
