Homer Lee Johnston, 94, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 7, 1928, he was the son of Edward Johnston and Susan Byrd Johnston. Homer was a lifelong area resident and he retired from Texaco as a pumper after thirty-eight years of service. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a former member of Neches River Sportsmans Association, Texaco Retirees and a member of First United Methodist Church in Groves. Homer loved fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erin Johnston; son, Richard Johnston; brother, Charles Johnston.

He is survived by his son, Barry Johnston of Groves; grandchildren, Zechariah Johnston and wife Rachel, Dacota Johnston and wife Mandy, and Heidi Achee, and three great-grandchildren.
